rear sway bar
I decided to put this question in general since I'm sure the anti-sway bars are all the same in respect to my question. Does anyone know if the rubber bushings are split under the bracket, or are they bonded to the bar and immovable? I know if I buy one from IPD, the rubber is split for installation, but before I buy a new one, I want to try to lube the old one. (It sqeaks like mad and is driving me crazy). I have taken the 2 bolts out and can not rotate or slide the rubber along the bar. I didn't try to pry off the metal that encases the rubber. Maybe if I did this I would find that I can move slide the rubber down the bar and lube it. But I thought I would ask here first. Thanks.
well I found the answer. The rubber is split. It was an easy job. Took the bar off, hammered the metal hoop off the rubber, took the rubber off, greased the heck out of it, reinstalled. Hopefully that helps.
