rear window washer/wiper problem

i have a 1996 volvo v40 and having probs with rear window washer, it keeps coming on without activating the control switch, any advice i would appreciate! 70,000mls on clock.(2ltr)

Most likely the circuit is stuck closed. I would first suspect the switch, then the motor for shorted wires. If it is annoying you, I would remove the fuse for it (unless the fuse is shared with other devices).
