XC40 recharge with the 5.0.5 software update

I don’t use Google maps, and I try to avoid using systems that create and share a lot of data about me. It’s not perfect, but I stick with Apple CarPlay and turn on as many privacy protections as I can.

When going through the apps, I notice that I can’t force stop all the apps, and I can’t turn off all the permissions in the system without breaking the CarPlay connection. Does anyone know which systems I must keep connected and functioning, versus which I can remove?

 

For your XC40 Recharge with CarPlay, keep Apple CarPlay, essential system services and vehicle security active; other apps can be disabled if not in use, but some permissions are required for CarPlay to remain stable.
