Rubber mats ?
Should I just get generic ones from Wal-Mart, or are there better options for the 2005 V-50 ? Obviously winter is coming up, and I do not want to ruin the carpet mats - I would want all 4 - preferably with a little raised edge, to keep water / salt / runoff in it, instead of leaking onto the carpeted area.
Suggestions ?
Suggestions ?
My Mom's 2008 V50 has the factory rubber mats and they are EXCELLENT. I know she paid a pretty price for them, but they fit very nicely and snap over the little plastic posts to stay in place. She also has the trunk liner. They all have good sized edges on them to hold in water. I have seen good after market maqts, but these things are just awesome. There is even a small mat to cover the transmission hump in the rear floor area.
Weather Tech ( www.WeatherTech.com ) they are kind of spendy but will last a really long time and work great.
For a few reasons - First, to protect my $15,000 investment, Second, so that it is not continually damp in the winter - which leads to premature damage to the carpet (which is why we have mats, right?) and Thirdly, this perpetual dampness will translate into rot on the floorboards. Essentially, when winter hits Massachusetts, the car mats will literally not dry out for several months. Maryland is quite mild in comparison.
