Default S40 Front lincense plate holder

I own a 2001 S40 and it did not come equipped with a front license plate holder and it does not have any holes drilled in the front where i could put one...I was wondering if there was any one out there who maybe drilled their own holes into the front or took it to a dealer ship to have them do?? Please reply back and tell me what I should do!

Feel towards the middle of the Bumper. You will feel Little Dimples.

That is where the Holes are supposed to be.

They might not match the plate you will have to get the holder.

Tech is there a threaded nut or plate behind the dimples or are we just screwing into the plastic bumper? Screws a dealer gave me for this appear to be just self-tapping wood-type screws not machine screws. If I am just attaching the plate to plastic I am afraid it will wear out the holes in time. Anyone else with experience with front plate mounts?

In the UK all cars are required by law to have front and back plates. The majority are fastened to the front bumper using self tapping screws, without any problems. My '96 850 has had them on for 10 years now and the holes have not worn out.
