Well i had to take my poor car to the shop. Its and 04 Volvo S60R. They called me back and told me with a short list of problems that my rear differential was shot. My car only has 56,xxx miles on it. So they are not claiming responsibility for it. I do not drive my car hard at all.

So im hoping any of you might know some secondary options for me. Volvo wants about 5k to fix it. I am open to suggestions right about now. If you have any good advice please feel free to post

well for future reference on this fine board i thought i would just let anyone know the outcome so far.

Long story short i ordered a replacement part from nationwide part dealer LKQ.

There is a local shop here in orlando i got a discount with who says they are on top of it. We shall see. All totalled this should cost me about 1k.

Days like this, i wish i drank.

Place called Fourniers off of mills and 50.

however interestingly i got a call today. They said the unit that was sent to them, has a smaller phlange than the one i had on my car. Im not entirely sure what that means. They are not trying to contact LKQ to see what it is they want them to do seeing as how i have the warrenty through them.

Im worried a bit that they might have ordered the wrong one. I specifically told them s60R.

There might be a few different driveshaft sizes.

If you continue to have problems and have to take the car out let me know. Maybe you can bring it to the shop I work at. We only work on Volvo and Mini coopers.

They are an ok shop. But I have seen some of the work they do and it is ok.

 

i dont know. I called today they said they were going to swap them like originally ordered and see how that goes. i do not like the lack of explainations. But i guess i'll see what the deal is here soon.

Im still waiting for a call from LKQ about the different sizes of phlanges.
