Have a 2004 Volvo S60R that we have enjoyed for 125,000+ miles. However, in recent weeks the ride has deteriorated and now I note that both front shocks are leaking.

The shocks for this car are extremely expensive due to their design. Will cheaper shocks from a non-R model S60 fit? And will leaving the existing electrical connections to the original shocks disconnected throw an error code? Can a fuse be pulled to eliminate this possible error code?
