Default S80 D5 SE 2003 - Alarm not working

Hi everyone.
I have bought a 2003 S80, 62K on the clock, full history, 1 owner.
No alarm siren or LED light on dash.
I have read its good to replace the siren. Is this the best way to go?
I look forward to some help.
Thanks,
James

You may have car configuration without alarm siren. Just central lock.

Even if the car was not configured with a siren, shold the red LED on the dash flash. Also the internal sensor button on the dash doesn't work (turn off or on)
Thanks.

Usually that means you need to replace siren.
