Question Side view mirror adhesive

I was driving our '09 Volvo V70 earlier today and noticed the driver's side mirror was vibrating excessively. When I reached my destination, I checked to see if the mounted assembly was loose, but found the glass mirror itself had de-laminated from the back plate and came off in my hand (better than down the road!). These are heated mirrors, and we live in Michigan, so see extremes in temperature. My question is, what is the best adhesive to re-attach the mirror that will hold up to environmental extremes (for at least the next 10 years or so). Any help is appreciated - Thanks!

I would use an outdoor rated epoxy that is listed to work on the two mating surfaces. Can get some at any hardware store. Loctite and Devcon are good brands.

But will epoxy stay flexible in extreme cold temps? Seems like that stuff gets real hard and won't take the change from below freezing to thawing out the frost quickly once you turn on the mirror heaters.....

There are A LOT of difference kinds of 2part epoxy adhesives for all different applications. I think an outdoor would work for you. It will normally say if it stays flexible on the package.

They make an adhesive specifically for rear view mirrors but I do not know how it will work on a side view with heated option.

Default Double sided tape

In my experience, the mirror stuck to the glue will fall off. The mirror works at high and low temperatures, and also while driving. I recommend double-sided tape for use with glass and plastic, and for outdoor use. Unfortunately, not every one is suitable. I sell a tape like this for £ 1, but I think you can find it somewhere in shop close to your home. If someone was looking for a side mirror, I have an online store www.benepits.com

if your previous mirror was heated you need to use glue, unless you do not need heated mirror.

Ended up going with J-B Weld Plastic Bonder. Supposed to be good to -34F, so should work. I'll let you know if I have issues. It's going to be over 100F this week, so that should cover the hot weather - LOL.
