Hello, I drive a 2007 Volvo XC90 with a 3.2 liter V6. I have been noticing that my oil pressure indicator reads slightly low (just slightly to left of the middle notch) and the pressure takes over five minutes to build. I changed my oil yesterday and poured 8 quarts of Mobil 1 Advanced Full Synthetic High Mileage oil. I was hoping that would help the problem however it did not. I installed three high powered 12 inch subwoofers last week and this problem started occurring yesterday before I left to work. I am wondering if perhaps the sound system is causing electrical issues in the vehicle and the reading is faulty or if there is something wrong with my engine. The electrical system reads 14.1 volts with the engine running. The engine never feels sluggish, there are no weird sounds, and it has no problems accelerating. I have about 228k miles on it and it is my first car. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you are referring to the gauge to the left of the speedometer - That is your engine temperature gauge. It should start on the left when the engine is cold and go to roughly the middle after about 5 minutes
A 07 xc90 does not have an "oil pressure indicator". It does have a red warning oil pressure light in the shape of an oil can - but on the 3.2 engine THERE IS NO OIL PRESSURE SENDING UNIT that under normal circumstances would turn that light off when there is oil pressure. There is a low oil level sending unit. - that MAY OR MAY NOT WORK. Perhaps you could test it next oil change by putting in 5 quarts and running the engine for a while to see if the low oil level warning comes on. (I have seen 2 engines damaged because the low oil level warning did not work, and the engines were run until they seized. )
Thank you very much! I am very relieved after reading that. I am very happy to finally have a vehicle and I get very stressed out if anything seems off.
this is where you should consider a dealer for service or a shop that does a full inspection as part of the schedule maintenance. I'm also an advocate of having a pre-purchase inspection done by a pro (they usually cost $100-150) unless you are a competent mechanic. I've been working on my own cars for 40+ years and the last car I bought I went CPO just to get that peace of mind.
I think You can also try using Sodium Hypo Chlorite based products, they are particularly useful for solvent emulsion cleaner, easily dissolves soiled oil and grease deposit in automotive parts. it works for my machine.
