Not a good evenging for me! In NJ we had quite a snow storm. My car skidded and hit a curb (right) front wheel. Damage to the rim, also when I drove away it felt as if I had no power steering. Any guess as to what it is and if it is expensive?

Sounds like you most likely messed up the steering rack.

 

It may have bent something in the steering system, or the rack has sustained damage and power steering fluid may have leaked out. Take the cap off the power steering fluid reservoir to see if there is still sufficient fluid left in there. If there is, either the rack has suffered an internal failure or rods & rod ends may have been deformed upon impact. Have it fixed asap.
