Timing Belt
Is the Volvo 2.3 liter T5 a free rolling engine?
You know, if the timing belt breaks, does the engine disintegrate itself, or does everything just hang loose and the engine waits for a new belt?
Just curious!

NO, Thank God. I just didn't know if the 2.3 was a freewheeler or not. It makes the recommended relacement cycle that more important to follow.
Is there a visual check that can be done while waiting for the 60,000 mile replacement date.
By The Way. I cleaned out my remote and now hold the buttons down LONGER to activate Lock/Unlock and this seems to wotk.
Thanks for the suggestions.

You can pull the cover off of the side and check the belt and make sure there is not lots of cracks in the belt.
If the remote is working don't worry about it to much.Alot of them feel different from the other one.
