Default Tires balanced on Haweka adapter ok?

Hi,

The place I'm getting my tires from is reputable and does tons of business. I do, however, have a concern about how the tires will be mounted.

I originally wanted my tires done at a place that has the Hunter GSP9700 since my V70 seems super picky about wheel balance. I ended up getting the tires I wanted from another place (mentioned above).

This tire dealer made point of saying that he can balance the tires out very accurately because he uses a Haweka adapter plate. He pointed out that it doesn't use cone, but five precision-mounted lugs.

Now, I was under the impression that the Haweka plates are only for lug-centric rims because it centres on the lugs, not the center hole. Will it work on my hub-centric Volvo rims?

I'm set to pick up the wheels tomorrow, so I want to make sure I understand how this works in case I have problems and he tries to blame it on my rims or the tire manufacturer.

Thanks,

Vince

Wow! I have never been that knowledgeable on what type of machine balanced by tires but I do know if they shake at certain speeds or not. If they do not give you lifetime balance & rotation, make sure you test drive the car and have them re-balanced if they shake at any speed. I recently had my messed up Titants balanced at Wal-Mart because I have lifetime balance & rotation there and within 200 miles I noticed them shaking at 70 mph. So I promply took them back to have them done again. They are rolling real good now, considering the tire have impact damage and the wheels are bent.

Best balance job I ever had was one done on teh car. The guy had a cool mini golf cart with a huge wheel that sat under the jacked up car, spin it up, a strobe indicates balance or not, whack on weights, check again, done. Whole wheel tyre/hub balanced!
Faster, much faster than taking wheels off and far more accurate.
Problem is, no one does this anymore. I was so impressed, I've been trying to find this machine second hand to buy for years now.

Regards, Andrew.
