I recently purchased a 1995 Volvo 960. When I got the title it was signed by the original owner to the man who I purchased it from. The man then signed in the dealer/auction/wholesaler spot the same way as above where you sign it over as a private sale. Am I going to have issues when I go into the DMV to get my tags. Its a legit title except for the stuff on the back we did the transaction and everything. The guy who I bought the car from did not do anything with the title he just let the car sit and the title sit then decided to sell it without changing the title over from the original seller.

I cannot be gone from work long as I am a Marine and my job is vital to the squadron I work for.

 

i have bought vehicles with multiple signovers before with no issues, though the titles i dealt with had a couple different spots for private sales. really it varies by state there might be people who know more on state specific issues

 

If the titled owner signed it and dated it a while ago, your DMV might have you sign an affadavid stating that you have not been driving the car. Just tell them that you just picked it up and it was sitting. Should not be a problem but don't go in there looking like you stole something, they may treat you like you have.
