trouble with my 1992 240gl

Unhappy trouble with my 1992 240gl
My heat just went cold and my temperature gauge went into the red. My thermostat and radiator are a month old. I understand that the thermostat could still be bad but am confused by the lack of heat. Any ideas?

It was a pressure bleed off valve on back of the non factory replacement radiator. I blew out. Had to get another new radiator. have never seen such a thing.
