V40 instruments (petrol & temp gauges)
Hi everyone, well this is my first thread on this forum site and am wondering if there are any member that has had probs with their petrol & temp gauges which seem to 'stick' in position after the ignition is switched off. After maybe 5 seconds the gauge pointers go down to zero.
Am I right in thinking that it could be the voltage regulator that is playing up or is it something else.
Any suggestion would be gratefully accepted.

Voltage reg, condenser (capacitor), etc... I cannot tell since I do not have the schematic for V40.
Does the owner’s manual say anything about the gages? It seems to me that it is nothing to be concerned of.

thanks JPN, had a look at the circuit and both gauges are controlled by a microcontroller and as you say it is not as though they don't work at all, so I'll take your advice and mot worry about them!.
