Hey party people, I'm new here, and I'm in a bind.

I just drove my much loved 97 V90 (219k miles) ten hours today, with a nice 10 mile stretch of appalachian mountain climb at the end. We made it up just fine and dandy, but as soon as I got to the other side started having some trouble accelerating. Made my destination, shut 'er off, then started back up a little bit later to drive a short distance. That's when the acceleration problem because very apparent, and the check engine light came on. Once at speed I'm not having any problems. And it did do some kicking into high rev spurts towards the end of the mountain climb.

I'm 650 miles away from home. I don't need to drive my car more than 20 miles each of the next two days, then monday I can hopefully get into a shop.

So three questions:

1. Am I running too big a risk trying to drive it that much the next two days?

2. Is my fuel pump inside the fuel tank and destined to cause me and my wallet an even bigger headache?

3. Any other advice/words of comfort?
