VIN number and VIN check
Hi everyone,
There is a Volvo for sale around me.
I do have 150 pictures of it, including some of them about the VIN number at different locations. So let's say the VIN has not been altered, not changed/modified and not replaced with one from the junkyard. They ALL look intact and original, the paint is original for sure and the VIN numbers all look as they should at many places on the car.
The issue:
I wanted to see the results of the VIN number check to know the car's history.
Many internet places can not find the number so I could not see any details of the car's past.
WHY IS THAT?
What colud be the reason that the VIN doesn't show up in the USA database? The Swedish VIN number analizer gives me all specifications of the car (year, type, colorcode, interior color, tranny type and place of assembly) so the car's vin DOES exist and they all happen to match with the facts I get from the present owner: year, color, tranny etc.
It just makes me MAD that the history is not visible. Even famous 'VIN number search/check' internet websites say that they do not have the number in their database. WHY?

I know for sure that the car has been used and registered in CALIFORNIA for many years so how come that the VIN is non-existent now in the history check database?
What to do and how to proceed? Please send me your suggestions.
The car looks great and still for sale. Another issue is that I'm afraid that it has a salvage title from CAlifornia so how is that when transfering to another state (FL) ?
Please let me know. I did research the web but I got several different things and would like to know how all this works.
I appreciate your help. Thanks!

What car is it? Year and make? Not sure why you did not list that in all the info you typed.
Did you try AutoCheck? Also, it is possible that the car was imported by someone. I would think that any registration would have shown the VIN.
