Default volvo 940 stop running when you hit the brake

I have a 92 940 non turbo AT. it's run great up untill a week ago. It will idel but as soon as you touch the break it dies. THe head lights stay on too the only way to turn them off is to unhook the battery.

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the forum, I wish you find it helpful.

Post this question in the 940 forum as well; there seem to be many experts there and you would have better chance of receiving accurate replies. I'm an 850 driver and am not privy to 940s so I couldn't help you.

When was the last time the car has received a good tune-up? Also, if you have a service manual, you may be able to pull trouble codes from the on-board computer (ECM/ECU).

I hope this gets you started.
