Volvo Navigation Maps DVD Update Question
I purchased a Volvo VNS HDD 2015-2016 Navigation Map Update DVD North America from eBay which I determined was a pirate copy which has resulted in my VNS to no longer operate without an error message.
The following message appears on the navigation screen after inserting the original disc into the disc reader:
The disc in the Navigation unit is invalid. A map update disc is required for the navigation system to work. Please reinsert the map update disc.
I own a 2009 Volvo XC90. How and where do I obtain a map update for my vehicle or is there an update available?
How do I reset the reader/VNS to accept the original DVD?
The VNS operated correctly before my decision to do an update DVD. The VNS is/was not user friendly, but with patience, the VNS was operational and correct.
I returned the pirate DVD copy and wish to update the VNS and would like feedback how to get back to where the system was before my blunder.

I also hit exactly the same problem at exactly the same point. Car is an '09 AM V8 Vantage that uses exactly the same system as yours.
The part I bought from Ebay was VCC P/N 3147789 1520. It was obviously a DVD copy.
I just bought from the Volvo Dealer at the cost of $300 the very latest official version of map updates. VCC P/N 32214047 1748 Except it won't load because the last update hadn't finished. $300 seems really high, but AM want $1900 for the same thing.
So I have been trying to obtain an official or at least functional version of 3147789 1520 so I can finish that update and then proceed to the lastest official update and at least justify the $300 spent on it.
How did you resolve this issue as I can't find any original 3147789 1520 discs anywhere ?

I was lucky to find a real cd on eBay and my Volvo gps is restored. My I phone maps is quicker and safer!! 😁

Does the disc you found have the part number 3147789 1520 ? If so , would you be willing to sell it ? I can't find a replacement anywhere.

Hi Fenflame, did you ever wind up updating everything ok? I have a 2009 V8V also and the nav system has always worked fine but now it keeps saying "Insert navigation disc" so I need to update. Is 32214047 still the latest maps?
