Default Volvo Productions - Automatic vs Manual

Does anybody have any information on what percent of vehicles by model were produced as automatic versus manual (4-speed with OD or straight 5-speed)? I'm kinda fixated on 1982 through 1995 models.

Thx for your help!

You would love 1995 850 T5-R @240HP, even with the 4-speed automatic. Yellow models are rare.

There were NO 940 0r 960 manuals in the US market. So, the last 5 speed was, I believe the 1991 740. As for the 240s, they had sticks to the end which was 1993. Percentage wise, they started probably pretty even, then the autos took over, so toward the end may be 3-4% were manuals. I'd love to get a decent 740 with a stick but no luck so far.

Manuals fadded out pretty fast as cell phones became popular. It's hard to shift while on the phone, drinking, eating, shaving, putting on makeup, etc.

I'm almost afraid to drive anymore. I don't hardly talk on the phone hands free. To busy watching out for others doing 5 things, not including watching the road.

>shaving, putting on makeup, etc.
!!!

This would be the end result of such acts:

!!!

Many mfgs were forced to dump manual shifters in good cars. Toyota Supra Turbo only came with automatic for the U.S market and I believe it was something to do with the emissions regulations. Why emissions regulations for transmission difference? Call EPA at 1-800-EPA-SUCKS/DOT at 1-800-DOT-IDIOT (just kidding, no offense meant, solely sense-of-humor sort of thing).

I'm kinda surprised as to the ratio of Volvo drivers that are women. I think something like 75% of Volvo's I see on the road are driven by women. I think it is actually because of core needs factor. Womens #1 core need is SECURITY and Volvo's are safe.

I hope I'm not a woman and just didn't know it.....

But I do have, well, an injector controlled by the OCU (Organic Control Unit = brain).....

I may need to verify with a doctor just to make sure.
