Volvo Total Miles
I tend to put 25000 miles on my volvo xc60 per year and just wondering if the members could chime in as to how many miles will a volvo last before really having major problems or need to be junked. I tend to believe 100000 is the max but I was told they can last alot longer. Anyone out there with volvos lasting way over 100000 miles?
Thanks,
Sal

LOL, which motor do you have? If you change the oil as scheduled and do the timing belt as you should, 400,000 will be easy.
I have about 215,000 right now with no smoking or anything. I had a 740 GLE with over 400,000 on it which looked and drove nearly new.

MILEAGE: How many miles can I expect to put on my Volvo?
If the oil is changed regularlly, you can easily put over 300,000 miles on your engine. The only motors that I know of that did not last as long were the V-6 motors in the Bertone.

Volvo for a lifetime
My 245 has been used like a truck since it was bought new in 1977. It's first 10 years and 200,000 miles as a balloon chase vehicle in S.C. towing a trailer and loaded with equipment every day.
The next 20 years and another 300,000 miles carrying lumber on it's roof and my carpentry tools in the back.
The last 6 years (retirement) and an additional 70,000 miles carrying a kayak on the racks.
I believe if you wanted, you could drive the same Volvo your entire life (This is not what the marketing division at Volvo wants to hear). If you have it long enough it will become part of your family.
