My variable intermittent front wiper mode on my V70 D5 2004 doesn't work. You can put it into the variable mode and flick the circular barrel dial up and down and it activates the the different speed modes but it only goes through a cycle or two and then it stops. If you turn the dial again it starts up again but again only for a cycle or two on that speed mode and stops again. When rain is less than moderate, the first setting is too slow, and then the faster setting past the variable option is to too fast!

Any ideas what might be the issue here? Do I need a new relay perhaps?
