I've aquired a couple of nice Volvos recently which I know virtually nothing about ( I won't waste time describing how I came to own the vehicles) So here's the scenario:
I bought a 2002 X/C70 with 107,000 miles for $3900 US. I've had to do the B4 servo change on the tranny, and I changed the fluid so the tranny shifts ok now. The DIN (speedometer cluster) is funky so I'll need to have that repaired. Timing belt status unknown. Front angle axle has small leak. Pretty clean car.
Just bought a 1999 S80 T6 yesterday for $1500 US. TIming belt status unknown, no known problems....yet. Very minor body damage, but pretty clean car.
My wife drives a 1997 850 T5 with 78,000 miles. The car is decent, but is requiring a timing belt, and has some oil leaks. Needs a bit of body work ($500), but pretty clean for the year.
I drive a 1998 S70 T5 with 130,000 miles and it hasn't been a problem for three years, but needs a timing belt, front struts, and rear shocks. Pretty clean car.
I'd really like to uprade to the V70, or S80, but I'm not sure it's the best move in the long run due to repair issues.
So, after reading this long post, does anyone have an advice? Dang, I love the feel of that S80 T6....
Thanks
