Hi all, I'm new to the volvo world after many years of VWs. I just bought myself a 1999 V70 base with manual transmission and am loving it. Now that I've had it for about a month it's time to start looking into the little things that need fixing. First up is the seats. I have the grey interior and my driver's seat cover is trashed. There are large chunks of material missing and the backing is the primary covering on the seat base. So it's got to be replaced.

Not a huge dilemma but I'm trying to figure out my best plan of action. I can get myself a replacement seat for a 1999/2000 S/V70, but not earlier since I believe the SIPS is different. And I think I need to have a manual seat since that's what I have in there and I am (probably) not willing to run power to a power seat if it's not already present. Please correct me if I'm off base. I'm new to this.

If I do this, which I probably will since it's cheaper and easier than finding just the covers, what should I do with the old seat? How would you folks dispose of it? It will still have some residual value, but I don't know who would be interested in a lousy looking seat. But I can be wrong... often.

I would just take the old ones to a junk yard.
