Question When storing a car...

I know some may think I'm beating a dead horse but here I go again.

I am going to park my 850 and not start it for a while. I've read that gas with ethenol will form a jell like substance and will likely gum up the fuel system. My reasearch has lead me to the following.
  1. I want to find gas with NO ETHENOL in it, fill the tank with it to avoid condensation, add some Stabil in the tank, run the motor until it goes through the system and park the car. Having trouble finding gas without ethenol.
  2. The local speed shop says that racing fuel, 110 octane will not age on my. That stuff is $9.50 per gallon. If I went that route I would only get about 5 gallons, which may leave room for condensation to form in my tank. I believe the tank it plastic so should I worry about condensation?
  3. Get regular 91 octane and add the stabil. Will the stabil stop the ethenol from jelling?
I'm leaning towards the racing fuel, is that stuff harmful to our motor?

Hmmm, I think all most, if not all, "racing" 110 octane fuels contain lead. My limited knowledge is that gasoline has a base octane - it is raised by the addition of various additives. Lead was used because it was effective and cheap. By the time you get to the really high octane stuff it contains more additives than gas and good old lead becomes feasible again because of it's effectiveness. Because the fuel is designed for "off road" (which includes any type of racing, hence the name) use and for airplanes lead is permissible to use.
I would add Stabil to a full tank and run it when I could.

It has been a four years since I have used the stuff so you may want to check my info. Just don't want you you add lead to an old catalytic converter!

Well, I decided to pump 5 gallons in and put some Stal-Bil in the car. I am not worried about empty space condensation because I keep the car the garage that is warmed by my water heater and the gas tank is not metal.

I have been thinking about this - (always dangerous!) and have another solution. Stabil simply works by slowing down the process created by oxygen and the gas - so, any reduction in oxygen will increase the life of the fuel ( decrease the amount of gum formation). Therefore, fill the tank almost up and then spray a can of argon down the filler tube to displace most of the remaining air(argon is heavier than air so as it goes in, air comes out!) a can is only 10 bucks at a wine shop and should provide enough argon to do the job.
