Default Where to buy brake rotors.....

I need new rotors for my wife's v70 -04, but after searching the internet I'm completely lost who to buy them from. Could anyone recommend where to get them?

Thanks

Dear Dieterly: To my surprise I went to the General Motors (GM) web site and found many parts for various makes of cars to my delight my Volvo uses GM AC Delco parts in the brake assembly where I got them was a Canadian wholesale retail outlet. The price was very competitive, better in fact than a large automotive retail chain we have here. Call around it pays to shop around as a matter of fact Volvo dealers use other than Volvo parts in there shops up here as there are delivery problems and it is more expedient to go to an another party for parts.

My usually try to get parts for my cars from companies that commit to keeping my car on the road with many parts. I'm finding that even Volvo has stopped offering some parts for my S70. The price of owning an older car.

That being said, I usually start with FCP, then go to iPd. If I can't find what I need there, I'll go local.

Something to know about rotors today...most all of them are being made in Communist China. Perhaps someday they will bother to increase quality control but as it currently stands we find it necessary to turn nearly every single NEW rotor prior to installation. You can't go by brand name anymore...seems most all the manufacturers have started having them built there.

FCP Groton sells Brembo rotors, and they are a very well respected name in brake hardware.

Well besides needing to know if it is awd or fwd, they'll want to know if it's a 2.3, 2.4 or 2.5 motor and most importantly...whether you currently have 11" or 12" rotors.
For what it's worth...we carry Ate, Brembo, PBR, Zimmerman, Pilenga and Balu rotors. I can find Chinese made rotors in every brand. All I'm saying is don't be surprised if brand new rotors need to be turned...

Dear Volvo fans: To those that have replied from me thanks for the additional information however about turning new disks or even drums. Where I live, the people who do brake work are fighting back at defective products by sending back the defective product till a quality part(s) are delivered. And yes we get an occasional warped rotor so I am told it is unfortunate that they get installed but it is a learning process for those that have not run in to this problem. It is better to measure the brake part than to argue the part was over torqued upon installation and that is why it is warped. Keep your receipts some national chain automotive part stores are not taking back parts unless you have your receipt and a photo I.D. and give your address etc. This is here in Canada.
