Apologies I’m sure this topic has come up before but I’m new to this forum. My 68 Reg XC60 has problems starting after I re-fuel. It starts fine after that initial problem until I need to put petrol in again. The Engine Management light has come on so I took it to the garage but after a week of looking and replacing a sensor and air filter they couldn’t find anything wrong. The light still comes on and it still struggles to start but only after putting petrol in.
did they tell you what code was reported? Also what year is your model? If you can, start by doing your own OBD scan for the check engine light. My hunch is its probably tied to the evap system which is supposed to pull the gas vapors out of the tank into the intake to be burned (reducing emissions).
Thanks for your reply. It’s a 2018 model. I’m based in the UK and we don’t do our own OBD scans. The garage code was very
vague I believe and pointed at the sensor which turned out not to be faulty. I’ve heard mention of the EVAP system so I’ll pursue that with the garage. Thanks
Same problem…XC 60 T5 2019.
Forum Newbie. I’ve got the same issue, including struggling refill restart. Car runs sweet despite fault code for nearly 12 months now.
Several service centers have given me different options in that time - including Bosch service centre.
Disconnect the in line sensor / component pictured and the fault will clear and not return until the engine is switched off
Disconnecting as pictured and the fault will stay cleared whilst car is running.
Does that suggest its that component at fault?
Anyway, Feels like it’s just going to have to go back to Volvo Service 💰 😫
Im in Western Australia. My reader says it P1071 too lean
But i think this can be as a result of multiple things. Its had all it services. Had the plugs and intakes done. Mass air intake cleaned etc.
I was told it was the evaporator system which is in my first post above i think?
