xc90 driveability issues
I am a technician with 30 yrs in. 25 of those years were with Volvo. Our dealer sold the franchise 2 years ago and because of a "no compete " clause we were not able to service them. We are now offering to work onthem again. One of the first vehicles I got was an XC90 with long cranking symtoms and a "reduced power" message on accleration only. There were no codes stored. These symptoms began after having the trans replaced at the new dealer. That dealer refused responsibility for the problems and the owner brought it to us. After some general checking on the car and on the Internet I found that all four of the top trans mounting bolts were missing (never installed when the trans was replaced) This trans is held in place by many bolts but not having the top ones installed allowed the trans to flex enough to, I suppose, affect the crankshaft signal. I replaced the bolts and the problem was solved. I hope to be able to share info like this because it has been a long time since I worked on them. Some one may be able to help me. Thanx.
Hello Sir,
I have utmost respect for service technicians, be it automotive or other forms of transportation.
Your contribution would be greatly appreciated by the forum, especially those who own XC90s.
Thanks for your contributions and I wish you could stay around with us, as there are not many who are privy to the XC90s.
Regards,
JPN
