I have a V50 that's been a very good little sports wagon. My work commute is increasing from 30mins to 1hour soon. I am wanting to get something more comfortable. So really good seats are important as is the smoothness of the ride. I have read that the S80s have very excellent seats but that the XC90 is not bad either. I also like that the driver can see over cars when in traffic more easily vs. the S80. I plan to test drive both. Looking probably at late model used - 2012, 2013, 2014. Do anyone have any opinions on getting one over the other? Known pros and cons would be very appreciated. I want whichever makes one less tired from commuting. At the same time, i like the versatility of the XC90 on weekends (cargo space). Can both haul two kayaks on top?

Also, Does the 4wd on either car only "kick in" when it's needed? neither is All wheel drive (4wd all the time)?
reason i ask is because my V50 has some torque steer at times which I don't like. I'm wondering if the XC90 or S80 is better in that regard if FWD or if it's AWD, then it's not occurring. Forgive my ignorance. Thanks for any info.
