I just bought an '03 S40 1.9T a few months ago and i was looking to upgrade the exhaust system. Any suggestions on exhaust systems (pls no riceburner sounding exhausts)

I am not suggesting that these sites sell and exhaust system for your car, because I don't know s40's, however check them out.

3. I believe the s40 you have has like an intergrated exhaust manifold and downpipe, which I don't know if it is a problem or not when you wanna get a bigger downpipe.

4. My sugestion is this. If you can, get a 3" downpipe made by a local muffler shop and make sure they can mandrel bend. Then have them make a mandrel bent 2.5" catback system with a free flowing CAT and muffler like MAGNAFLOW. Since your car is turboed you want free flowing and not a muffler with baffles in it like FLOWMASTER. Get Magnaflow!!!

 

Heico makes a very nice exhaust system for 1st gen S40's. I have one and it looks and sounds great and was very easy to install. BJ

 

First gen wouldn't that be the 1998 model s40? His is an 03.

By the wau HEICO might make nice products, but they are way over priced. Just have a local muffler shop do it, you will be much happier.
