Default intake issue

many have made custom intakes for their v's. all still involve the MAF. my MAF has issues, so i tried running the car without it... it... it... runs good? im not sure if this is safe. i want some feed back form any who know how this will affect the car in the long run(91 740 GL)

if you have pics of a custom intake for a 740 GL please post them for me, thanx

Well you need the MAF from what I know. So put it back in and either buy EST's kit. A stock panel filter or K&N panel filter. Or create your own custom intake.

BMC CDA might be an option to for you.

Your best bet would be to customize an intake setup or panel filter like K&N in the stock airbox. I have an S40 so the setup is going to be really different but i just made a SRI with piping i bought from Pep Boys and managed to keep all sensors with a little cut and play with the stock airhose. It works better then anything i had previously. EST's intake is only a cone filter attached to the stock airhose if i remember correctly( I could be wrong) with it's own heatshield.

you definitely need your maf. when you say issues, what would that include? Also try buying some MAF cleaner and cleaning it out.

Plug your maf in and pick up a k&n drop in filter. Call it a day.
