Default New S40 T5 and no CAI?

HI,

I have purchased a new 2006 S40 T5. Actually i pick it up in two weeks. I wnat to have all the accessories ready by the time I pick it up.

I have been searching everywhere for a COLD AIR INTAKE that has heat sheild as well. I am not interested in a DIY.

I heard that Eurosport Tuning has one...I called them and they say they dont carry them.

Has anyone got any other sources...i know that my volvo needs a little of that under the hood growl!

Every car i have owed from a toyota MR2, BMW 328i, TransAm & Chev Avalanche...all of them had a CAI installed..they are worth every penny and more!

Thanks in advance,

ROn

Welcome to the world of VOLVO.

Where the aftermarket products are good, but you wont find what you would for a HONDA.

Look you own a Volvo, there are a ton of aftermarket products. However there is no TRUE CAI for our cars.

Your right EST makes an intake kit with a heatshield, but it still sucks in Hot Air from the engine. BMC CDA which is sold by VIVA PERFORMANCE is another option to look into. They may not yet make one for your car but worth looking into. Also the stock airbox on Volvo's is the best option. Stick a good clean stock air element in there or K&N panel filter and your good to go.

Does anyone have an opinion on the BMC panel filters versus the K&N panel filters? The BMC filters are much more costly; just wondering if they're that much better. Thanks.

More then anything I feel the BMC CDA is for looks. The filter isn't any better from what I know then a K&N, but I don't think you can use a K&N in the BMC CDA.

So my opinion is for you to just get a K&N filter or even a replacement stock one.
