I have an 01 S60 turbo, from what I have found there is no cold air intake, (please correct me if I am wrong) so my thought would be to construct my own. has anyone taken their airbox out before? I would love to see some pictures if you have. (my thought is to put a cone basically where the stock box is, but i need to see where I would need to cut to get airflow to it, it may have enough room that I wouldnt need to but i must see.

Any other cheap upgrades people can recommend?

 

Alot of people just use a drop-in filter. I have a K&N drop-in and it works well. I am not sure how much of a difference it would make unless you get a true cold air intake, even then, the gains will probably be minimal. Intakes are usually more of a sound mod anyway, IMHO.

 

agreed. there are kits for my s40 i would assume same for s60

 

Evolve is in the process of development for the R. True CAI are rare for the S60 for some reason. And here is a link for a DIY CAI

CAI for any Volvo is rare, there are no true CAI's for Volvo. Only shortram intakes.
