No on the winter mode question. winter mode controls the transmission - essentially forcing it to start in 2nd gear to cut torque and limit wheel spin in snow/ice. A slow warm up sounds like your thermostat is opening up too soon or your HVAC is not right - ie the air blend doors are letting cold air from the outside vs routing the air through the heater core. Any flashing lights on the AC switch?

Manual states it’s normal
No it’s just as I read, normal as per the manual for Volvo’s to just get a trickle air until the car warms. It just takes 4ever
As it turns on it flashes, then goes
the CD player doesn’t work till warm either. Well sometimes the 3rd cd can play, not 1,2
Ive talked to people with Volvo’s and they say the same thing
The manual says it will ‘ trickle until warm, then full blast when warm.
ive heard of ppl changing this affect but then it creating problems as the blower works immediately without things being warm, this causes damage.

Do you have the heat setting off at first?
if I leave the blower off it warms up much quicker. Give that a try, otherwise ya your thermostat may be opening too soon. Is the coolant at a good level/good consistency? If the coolant is at the right level then there’s a chance your heater core is a little blocked up, but no guarantees
