I'd like to introduce myself and my daughters 1984 240 Wagon aka Jean
Our daughter just turned 17 and has always wanted a Volvo wagon. We have had a few over the years but we were lucky enough to find this survivor. A 1 Owner 1984 only 20 minutes from our place here in Idaho. Car shows 187k on the odo but the owner said that stopped working back in 2005 sometime. He has continued to drive "Jean" up until the time they moved to Idaho from California 3 years ago. He didn't want to sell it but his wife recently passed and this was their first purchase when they got married. With this unforseen circumstance in his family he was very generous in finding Jean a good home. Interior is super clean now that we have gone through it all. Runs like a champ!
We saw it and had to have it. Dirty? YES. Needs Love? YES. Needed to be driven? YES.
We figured we could do all of that. No rust, a few small dents and each one has a story. The P.O. shared each story with us as well. Its been an incredibly fun project so far.
We have decided now that she is clean we love it more than we could have imagined. My daughter LOVES it and all of her friends cant believe that she has such a cool car. Mind you many of them are driving new or newer MB or BMW's and they always take our daughters car because its cool.
Here are a few before and after pics. We have a few parts on the way but the cleanup speaks for itself as we really wanted to keep the patina on the paint. Enjoy!!
Found like this. Wheels and tires cleaned or replaced First wash One wheel finished Daughter and friend working on the paint First side completely done Hood and front done with the exception of a few lenses and parts Washed and roof rack added Side view of car with roof rack and a fresh wash
