Hey guys 'n gals, please help. Flashing engine light came on, intermittent rough idle, gas odor near tank noticed. Cracked tank ventilation hose replaced-> no change. OBDII indicates 2 codes: P0103= "mass or volume air flow A circuit high" and P0400="exhaust gas recirculation flow". Should I test air flow meter and if so how? Replace charcoal canister? Check for vacuum leak? Any ideas?
Also, front end suspension/steering is tight but squeaks under dry conditions. Which rubber bushings should I start changing?

 

For the P0400 Check the hard EGR liness and vacuum lines to make sure none have come off. You can also locate the EGR control valve and try cleaning it with carb cleaner. Have you noticed any smoke coming from the dipstick or done a "rubber glove" test to see if your PCV system is clogged?

On the P0103, search for some existing posts on how to measure the leads into the MAF. You may want to try a simple cleaning first - both the connectors as well as the MAF's wire elements (use CRC MAF cleaner - not carb cleaner). You may be due a new MAF...
