2000 S80 Flywheel Flat spot Possible to move flywheel?
Hello,
I am new to Volvo and today removed the starter on my 2000 S80 to find a flat spot on the flywheel. I was hoping someone could tell me if there is a way to move the flywheel manually past the flat spot. Car was running fine but thought the starter had crapped out. Found this wonderful surprise while replacing it.
I just need to get it started. Currently just spins as the old one did. I don't think the car is worth paying to have it fixed so just going to donate it.
Thanks in advance....Chris

yes, it's not all that hard to turn one. If you're strong, you can turn one by the accessory drive belt. if that doesn't work for you, put a big enough socket on the crank pulley bolt. Since the starter is out, you could work on the flywheel itself using screwdrivers to pry. However, you don't really want to stick with that if you are trying to start the car anyway. It may not start on a single attempt.
