Default 2005 S60 key fob dead and so is battery

Hi. Unfortunately, our 2005 S60 has been sitting for the last 7 months waiting for our daughter to take it. The battery is dead (and located in the trunk, of all places) and so are both key fobs. I can unlock the front door with the key, but that is all. I need to get into the trunk so I can jump the battery. I have read several things on different forums, but many say to jump the battery first.... I cannot open the trunk at all. I also tried with the key in the ignition, even though the car is dead and tried to open it.
I really need some help here. What can I do? I really appreciate your advice.

Thank you
Wendy

There is a cover over the lock on the trunk lid - (next to the tag lights/release button)

Or - there is a battery B+ connection under the hood next to the fusebox (green arrow pointing to it) Connect the positive to that and the negative to any metal surface under the hood if you want to try to charge or jump start the battery that way.
