When I put the car into drive it has a pretty hard vibration, but only when in drive or neutral and if I put it into reverse first sometimes It doesnt happen. Could this be a bad transmission mount? Or is my transmission bad? Ive not had this issue before and it kind of happened suddenly, my wife drove it to work juat fine and it started when she tried to leave for lunch. Theres almost like a grinding noise and the whole engine starts going up and down but it stops when you start driving, im worried ill damage it more if I drive it any more. Any help is greatly appreciated.
A common cause of noise/vibration that changes with engine load is the mount on the front of the engine (right side of the car) sags/tears and a metal portion of it contacts the subframe.
If that's the problem, once it's off the car you will see where the center metal part of the mount has been rubbing on the subframe.
Yes but It doesn't sound good once it stats moving, kinda takes a bit more gas than usual, I had my wife put it in gear while I was watching the undercarriage and thats all that moved was as soon as she put it in gear it starts the barrel part close to the trans starts spinning by itself, so the joint in the cv axle is shredded, its an awd so its a common issue I've heard
