Bought a 2007 Volvo s40 from a seller and he assured me the ECU was fine it just needed to be reset and that's why it wouldn't start. All dash lights come on and windows work etc but it does not start. Upon dropping off at a mechanic I was told the ECU isnt even the original that was mated with the car out if the factory. I have no clue why this other ecu was out into the car and the previous owner will no longer take my calls. Inwas quoted about $2,200 to fix the problem. Does anyone have any idea of what I can do to either fix it myself or a way to save some money. I do t have the money and I hope for my families sake I didn't just go BUST all over this Volvo.
