My son bought a Volvo V60 T4 from from a dealer in Christchurch. We have had none stop issues with the Coolant level dropping. The car has been back and fourth several times. It has just clocked 100k KMs. This video was taken Friday 29 August 2025.
Coolant level below low. Opened the cap Coolant floods back in. Level in reservoir at deferent levels. Coolant overflowing We have done 4x compression tests via Canterbury Radiators and AA. Replaced an overflow pipe, replaced the Reservoir Cap. Bleed the system twice. Still this keeps happening.
Hi here are a few suggestions In my opinion the cylinder head is damaged maybe warped or cracked or the gasket has blown,Get them to do a cylinder pressure test by removing each spark plug in turn and fitting a pressure gauge to check each cylinder independently The next one is to remove the cylinder head itself and check the gaskets Then do a pressure test on the cylinder head to determine wether it is cracked or not. The problem appears to be a build up of pressure in the water coolant system created by the pistons themselves so when engine is heated up this pressure exposes a crack in either the gasket or cylinder headSolution is as above and a replacement of the cylinder head with new gasket set Sorry this is my only suggestion.
