I recently replaced the clutch in my 242 turbo, but I now have shuddering when taking off in 1st gear and gradually all gears. does anyone know what causes this? a bad transmission mount? or U-joints on the driveshaft?</P>

I would check the engine mounts and the rubber donut on your drive shaft.
