Default 98 s70 t5

Hello all, this is the first volvo that I've bought, and I gotta say, it will not be the last! I even convinced my father to buy an 08 S60 2.5T.

my S70 was completely stock single female owned car. It took me a few months to find it because I was only looking for a 98 T5 blk on blk 5 spd (it has 203,xxx km). You guys can probably figure out why it took me so long lol.

I haven't done any performance upgrades. I honestly dont think it needs anymore performance upgrades (for now atleast). In exterior departement, I've installed:
R bumper
eyebrows
blk Grill
Projector head light
HID
exhaust tip (stock one was completely rusted and falling appart).
Lowered 1.5" front, haven't had time to do the rear yet.

For the interior, I've installed a Pioneer AVIC f900 double din unit (really nice unit btw)

Oh, one other thing, STAY AWAY from armorall interior wipe. It only makes you interior look cheap and doesnt have good coverage! you can see it in my interior. It looks alot better now that it wore off.

the last picture was taken with my phone, see if you can spot the difference...

Mods, let me know if the pictures are too big and I will resize them.

Also you removed the horns from the grille area.

thank you, I didn't actually move the horns, the flag mesh and the black grill make the horns less visible.

One thing I want to do to the headlight is wire up the bottom strip as my daytime running lights. It's odd that the headlight harness coming from the engine has 4 wires and the stock harness coming out of the headlights has three (in a 4 wire plug). My only guess is they have it wired on euro S70's. I noticed that they use the same idea on Skodas in suisse, they use a small blue peanut bulb. By doing this, I can use the HIDs only at night and save some hours on them.

You guys in the states don't have to worry about daylight running headlights right?

Well they have the daytime running lights but we can turn them off by a simple turning of a screw in the headlight switch.

Welcome to the forum.

Very nice machines you've got!

I can tell by looking at the pics that you've been taking good care of your machines.

Cheers,

JPN

Thank you for the comments mates. I try to take care of her but, unfortunately, you can't protect her every time. This happened 3rd day of may...

Oh no! I hope everyone was ok. You going to fix it? Or is the damage beyond the body panels?

You know what, I'm very thankful that my friend and I were in the Volvo. I took a picture of the rear pass. door from the inside and you wouldn't know if the door was hit or not. That’s how strong these doors are. I wouldn't want to know how bad it would have been if I were in a kia or hyundai :S.

The front window shattered in my friends face but thankfully she wasn't hurt. Glass was, of course, everywhere. Down our shirts, in our hair and even under us. Don't ask me how it got there but it just did lol. The hit actually tore the lower hinge off of the B-pillar The front fender, both doors and B-pillar were replaced and the dent in the rear quarter panel was pulled out.

btw, the pictures in my first post is how the car looked a month and a half after the hit (June). The last picture that I took with my phone is how it looks right now...

Yes, you were lucky that you were in Volvo. I watched the film via Off Topics with the title of "Stop Texting while Driving" or something like that. The hyperlink leads you to a disturbing consequences of texting whilst driving.

If we happen to get involved in an accident, we'd be thankful to be in a Volvo.

wow, they really went all out with that video, very realistic. If only she was in a car with SIPS, and, one of the reason why I'll never buy a car that's the size of a ford Ka. No protection whats so ever.
