Default all wheel drive

Anyone out there know of a good way to slap all wheel drive onto a 91 Volvo 240 (wagon)

oh-yeah...by the way

hello everyone.
I've been the proud owner of this particular car for 7 or 8 years (I lose track all the time). It's been a wonderful project car (i've added a few aftermarket trinketts here and there). I'll never get rid of it. As a matter of fact it's been up in the air whether to off-road or hot-rod the thing (don't ask). At any rate, I'm leaning towards the off-road, or atleast a beefier version of XC-70 but not quite as beefy as the XC-90. The only thing I'm having trouble with is how to install all wheel drive (or 4 wheel for that matter)...of coarse the suspention is turning out to be a problematic, but I'm not so woried about that.

any input would be appriciated

First of all Welcome.Second of all the only way I could think of would be to find a four wheel drive with similiar wheel base and mount the 240 body onto the 4 wheel drive frame.

yeah, that's what I've been leaning too. There really isn't any good way to attatch front wheel drive to an already low riding car (the engine, after a V8, sits too low). Plus the suspention in the back would have to be completly refabricated to adjust for the lift. Butterfly springs might do it but what do you attatch them too? The cross country system, although it can be lengthend, can't accomidate a V8 very well...I'm stuck with a different chasis I guess...any suggestions? I've seen that some of the OLD international 4x4's have simmilar wheel bases but they're tough to find...in good condition any way.
