Aloha from Vancouver Island
Good Morning.
Just a quick note to do a brief intro.
This is not my first account, but I can't recall the old ones (had one, maybe two over the past fifteen years.
My current line up includes:
1978 245 DL that was purchased a week back. Single owner with full history. Plan to restore and keep it as stock as possible. Currently my daily.
1991 240 Wagon which I have had since 2019. Currently parked awaiting me to decide if I am going to throw a whack of cash at her to get bodywork repaired or just do a body swap. She has a badly rusted out windshield metal, but I do love her. Rescued her from being crushed.
Previously I have owned:
1982 245
1984 245
1996 850
I like to do most of my work that I feel comfortable with and I am lucky enough to have an amazing local shop, Forward Automotive for the work I can't or don't feel like doing. I also live only forty minutes from Chapman Automotive which just may be the largest scarp yard for Volvos in western Canada. Also lucky enough to have some damn talented friends on the island for help when I need it.
Have loved Volvos since my late teens, and I guess I am now officially one of those Volvo People who owns more than one. The new one is a gem and I look forward to bringing her back to her former glory, while the other I want to build up, lower etc. I freely admit using Trinity as work truck as well as a back country adventure wagon. She has been a reliable car that earlier this year I replaced with a GMC Jimmy so I would stop beating her up in the back country.
Besides Volvos I have owned a few BMWs, an Audi as well as Jeeps, Oldsmobiles and once upon a time a 1964 Plymouth Valiant Signet 200 (that was a damn fun car).
When I was younger I used to race early Datsun's doing rally racing and later in life I started tracking my BMWs with the local club.
