Default B5254T head dramas

I need to replace the head on my sons V70 wagon with a B5254T engine as it is to warped to machine after he over heated it .will the head off a B5244T be a direct replacement are they the same engine...? are there any other engines with the same head as the B5254T that will work . Any advice would be most appreciated haven't any experience with the Volvo engine .
Cheers Glenn

what year? You can do a search on car-parts-com and ask for interchange parts and see which models and years are offered up. Plus you get the bonus of seeing recycle yard prices and who has a part ready for you.

You should find the 98 and 99 low pressure turbo models with the 2.5L S70/V70/C70s as a direct fit along with some 97 850Ts (like the AWDs with the 2.5T - which never came to the states). In 2000, Volvo added VVT so those models got the T2 designation.

As long as the head has the same VVT location and it's from a turbo car you should be good.
