Default Back into Volvo!

Hello all
I'm not exactly new to the forum. Nor am I new to Volvo. I believe I joined a few years back when I had my light blue '93 850 GLT 5-spd. Prior to that, however, my relationship with volvo goes way back. I the late 90s my parents bought a 10 year old 740 GLE for around $4,000 with 158k miles on it. Kept it for over ten years and sold it with 375k miles on it! Last I heard it was going strong with over 400k. My second car was a 1998 S90, dark red metallic. LOVED that car. It developed the leaky valve stem seals, and my naive self decided to sell it versus fix it. I have since learned that it was a mistake to let our mechanic tell us it would be a $3,000 job. Then came the 850, which I also loved. While I had that, I picked up, fixed and sold a '83 244 Turbo. Which I have since learned was a mistake to sell. Very cool car. After that, I had Cadillac STS for a few years, which I also LOVED. People mocked me for driving grandmas car, but that thing was awesome! The I took leave of my senses and leased the brand new Hyundai Veloster. I like that car a lot and it was very cool, but it just didn't suit me. This all brings me back around to Volvo and the 2007 S80 V8! I love love LOVE this one! It's the perfect combo of the comfort and power of the Cadillac with (albeit built with ford money) the solid Volvo feel and Swedish sensibility. It is not as cushy as the Cadi, but all together it has to be the most luxurious, fastest, best handling, most capable car I've ever had! And one of the best I've ever driven. I know it has a mish mash of Japanese, German and Swedish parts and its built on a Ford eurocar platform, but it does feel like a Volvo. Besides the Ford part, Volvos have always had German and Japanese components, and lets be honest, those two know how to make pretty solid and reliable cars too! Just recently I found a 1990 240 DL wagon. On Craigslist for $800 with a broken timing belt. Getting it for $600, and as soon as my parts come, I'll be resurrecting it! That will be my car for towing the jet ski, hauling stuff and keeping some miles off the new one. Can't wait to get back into loving these cars as I always have and sharing with you guys.
