Default Back in a Volvo

I've been a member for several years and was fairly active until we sold our 850 GLT. I almost came back this summer, but the deal with a friends 855 R didn't work out.

I'm happy to say, I finally found my Volvo.

It's a well maintained '98 V70R AWD. Has some minor IPD upgrades, lots of maintenance history and was owned by an enthusiast. I'm confident I got a solid car. Feels good to be back in a proper Swede.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to a long ownership. I am definitely loving this car more than any others I've had.

I couldn't resist taking a pic on my way back to work after lunch:

Am I close enough for inclusion in Duke City Turbo Bricks? I'm closer to Abq than Denver. LOL

I love those wheels. I wish I could find a set locally. Enjoy your wagon.

I've had it for 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it! I have an IPD R boost gauge to install, some fresh plugs, and that will be the extent of my tinkering for some time. It was supposed to have had a fresh tune-up, but I'm not a fan of Denso plugs.

I'm just going to drive and enjoy it. It may be high mile, but it's pretty solid. And I like the wheels too. When I first saw pics, I was going to immediately start looking for Pegs, but the Comets have really grown on me. I really should plastidip them to keep them protected from winter grime.

It had just over 164K when I bought it. But with the maintenance history I received, the clean carfax, and the fact the seller had another V70 T5 in the driveway, I think I got a solid car.

He would have kept it, but didn't need AWD in Texas (where he was moving) so it was pick one to sell.

I've been loving it. Nothing like the T5 sound.

Did you once have a red block beefed up pretty good?

Nope. That wasn't me. I've only ever had a stock '97 850 GLT. There's an owner on V70R.com that has a beefed up red block in a silver VR. His build thread is pretty fantastic.

My goals are to get the boost gauge installed and call it good.

That should be enough. I seen one the other day that was installed in the dash where the switches (or should I say switch blanks) are.
