yes , my timing belt snapped on me and I know the engine might be done ,
However no matter what or how I try I can't rotate the 2 vvt cams back into
marking alignment , and I also can't put the belt on either to rotate them that way .
Its so far off on cams , the belt won't even temporarily go on to rotate,
Also , my engine crank rotates but cams don't move .
Does anyone know of a method to attempt to rotate these cams back ?
I realize its more than the physical cam sprockets themselves , and is more
so the internal shafts that connect them that are completely off .
Do you think removing plug 1 will allow rotation.
Any help is tremendously appreciated , as I want to at least attempt a realignment
and time , to see 100 per in this engine is really gone .
Thank you everyone .
Chris.

If your "timing belt snapped" - meaning the timing belt came off or the cams and crank are no longer in time -
You have bent valves. Anything else other than dealing with that reality is just a waste of time and money.
Come to that realization - and make plans to get the head off and repaired properly. That may cost $3000 retail. If you can't do that - sell the car as is and move on.
Sorry for your troubles.

It was his so I just feel bad having to part with it ,
But your 100.
